Clemson freshman Ashlan Ramsay will turn pro after this year’s Curtis Cup, the school announced Tuesday.
Ramsay is the No. 7-ranked player in the R&A’s World Amateur Rankings.
The 18-year-old has helped Clemson rise among the game’s elite even in the program’s first year of existence. The Tigers, who have a six-player roster of all freshmen, are ranked 12th in the country.
Ramsay, No. 10 in Golfstat’s rankings, has two wins and a pair of runners-up among her six top-10 finishes this season. She will compete in the postseason for the Tigers, then tee it up in June at the Curtis Cup before joining the play-for-pay ranks.
