Georgia’s Joey Garber and Europe’s Max Rottluff headline the first spring ranking for the 2014 Palmer Cup, college golf’s Ryder Cup-style event.

The top six golfers in the rankings – which are pulled from Golfstat’s NCAA Player Ranking – will be among the 10 players selected to compete in the event June 26-28 at Walton Heath Golf Club.

Points are awarded for college victories and other high finishes, with negative points for poor results.

For the U.S. team, the remaining four players will be selected using three committee picks and one coach’s pick, which is the responsibility of American skipper Steve Desimone of Cal. One of the committee picks has to be a non-Division I player.
