A three-month break did little to cool off the Oklahoma State men’s golf team.

The Cowboys, No. 3 in Golfstat’s team rankings, won their third title in a row this weekend at the Amer Ari Invitational.

In beating a top-tier, 20-team field, Oklahoma State shot a whopping 45-under 819 to win by a dozen shots over 19th-ranked Washington. Oregon, TCU and USC shared third place, while second-ranked Georgia Tech finished T-7, 18 shots behind the winners.

The Cowboys beat another strong field at the U.S. Collegiate in October, then closed out the fall slate with a 16-shot victory at the Royal Oaks.

Three months later, in Hawaii, the Cowboys were boosted by sophomore Jordan Niebrugge, who closed with 65 to shoot 16-under 200 and earn medalist honors for the first time in his career. The 2013 U.S. Walker Cupper – who won both the U.S. Amateur Public Links and prestigious Western Amateur last summer – finished a shot ahead of USC’s Jeffrey Kang. Stanford’s Cameron Wilson was another shot behind.

Four of Oklahoma State’s five players finished inside the top 20 individually, including Wyndham Clark, who finished joint fifth.
