FootJoy has released its DryJoys Tour LTS waterproof gear, designed to "reduce weight and improve mobility while still remaining 100 percent waterproof in all playing conditions."
The acronym stands for Lightweight construction, Temperature regulation and Stretch fabrication.
According to FootJoy, the LTS jacket has only five panels and six seams, compared to as many as 24 panels and 27 or more seams in other jackets. This reduces the weight and bulk, while improving mobility.
FootJoy also partnered with ThermoLite to create a special liner. "When conditions are cool, the hollow core fibers trap body heat inside the core and when conditions are warm, the fibers wick moisture and expel heat for optimum temperature regulation," the company said in a statement.
As for allowing a flexible swing, FootJoy has developed a three-layer bonded fabric, "which boasts soft, comfortable and quiet attributes, as well as excellent four-way stretch that moves with you through the golf swing."
The jacket sells for a suggested retail price of $285, with the rain pant going for $210.
