As we look ahead to the year's first major the folks at Ecco are looking in the rearview mirror, to the 1992 Masters, when Fred Couples won his lone major, outlasting Raymond Floyd and Corey Pavin at Augusta National.
The Fred Couples ‘Signature Edition 1992’ casual hybrid shoe features the things PGA Tour pros and average weekend hackers have come to expect from Ecco: a sleek sneaker look, spikeless bottoms that are able to deliver superb grip in a variety of conditions and most importantly, comfort that is second to none as soon as you put them on.
“The Masters is a really special tournament for me and I always appreciate the support Ecco provides,” said Couples, in a press release. “I thought we could do something really fun with the Casual Hybrid this year and am thrilled by the design we created.”
The casual hybrid shoe was co-designed by the Word Golf Hall of Famer, and are being limited to 1,992 pairs with Couples’ distinctive autograph laser-engraved with on the outer heel.
“Fred and the Masters are a magical pairing and each year the world tunes in to see his performance at Augusta National,” said Head of Global Golf at Ecco, Michael Waack. “None have been better than when he slipped on the green jacket, so it’s fitting to celebrate that exceptional victory with a very distinctive shoe.”
