This week marks the 21st event of the 2014-15 PGA Tour season, as the Tour stays in Texas for the Shell Houston Open. Each week, a panel of experts will offer up their picks from four groups of players, based on Golf Channel's fantasy game, Fantasy Challenge. We will also keep track of their scores and standings. The panel includes: senior writers Rex Hoggard and Randall Mell; editorial director Jay Coffin; associate editor Will Gray; 'Morning Drive' host Gary Williams; host Charlie Rymer and defending fantasy champion Ryan Lavner.
Group 1: Jordan Spieth: Maybe he’s peaking too early, but Spieth can’t seem to hold back when there’s a trophy on the line. He’s just in really good form.
Group 2: J.B. Holmes: Like what his record at Houston and his current form add up to in this Masters warm up. Holmes has a T-12, T-8 and 2nd over his last four starts in Houston.
Group 3: Jason Kokrak: The big man’s on a nice little run of late with a finish no worse than 11th over his last three starts. Plus, he had a top 10 in Houston just two years ago.
Group 4: Scott Pinckney: Coming off a top 10 at Valero, his second top 10 over the last month.
Group 1: Patrick Reed: Reed is out to avenge his playoff loss last month in Tampa, and the "hometown event" angle seemed to play out pretty well for Jimmy Walker at Valero.
Group 2: Lee Westwood: The Englishman has quietly put together a nice season, and his record in Houston includes five top-25 finishes across the last six seasons.
Group 3: Cameron Tringale: Tringale is set to make his Masters debut next week and should pick up some momentum here, with top-20 results each of the last three years in Houston.
Group 4: D.A. Points: The 2013 winner has shown signs of a comeback in recent weeks, including a T-17 finish last month at Bay Hill.
