No media tour for Bubba; just some R&R in W. Va.

Bubba Watson and his green jacket aren’t going on a media tour after this Masters victory.

Watson said that his surprise visit Tuesday on Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive” was one of only two media appearances ("CBS This Morning") he would make before going on a family vacation. Two years ago, he was a fixture on the late-night TV rotation.

This week, his family will head up to The Greenbrier in West Virginia, where the Watsons are building a house. For now, though, they’re renting a place for the week and plan on hosting a party on Friday.

Watson also said that, unlike in 2012, he wants to share this green jacket “with everybody.” Having grown up on the Florida Panhandle, the 35-year-old hopes to take the green jacket to Pensacola and Bagdad, perhaps even throwing out a first pitch with the Blue Wahoos, the minor-league baseball team.

“I thought this time it should be more about letting people enjoy this with me,” he said on the show. “My close friends, the people who helped me in this game.”
