SAN FRANCISCO – The membership at Austin (Texas) Country Club approved a four-year deal to host the WGC-Match Play beginning in 2016.

The PGA Tour previously announced the event’s move to Texas and a four-year sponsorship deal with Dell beginning next year.

“We look forward to bringing the best 64 players in the world to Austin and a club that has such rich tradition at a course that will be a challenging, but fair test for the field,” Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said.

The Match Play relocated to Harding Park for this year’s championship after eight years in the Tucson, Ariz., area. Austin Country Club will be the event’s sixth venue since it was first played in 1999.

The event is scheduled to be played next year March 23-27, the week after the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
