LOS ANGELES – Sometimes a player can lose a playoff, sometimes the other guy wins.
In Paul Casey’s case on Sunday, it was two other guys.
Casey carded a par at the devilish 10th hole – the second playoff hole – but fellow competitors James Hahn and Dustin Johnson each made unlikely birdies to eliminate him from the playoff.
“The pitch shots those guys just hit into 10 to make birdie, absolutely brilliant,” he said. “Disappointed I didn’t make birdie.”
Despite the playoff loss, Casey came away from the week with mostly good vibes.
“I love this golf course. I’ve always played well around here. The crowds are great and it’s just nice to get an opportunity to win this. Maybe one day I can get my name in the clubhouse. This place, I love it to death.”
