PHOENIX – Cheyenne Woods electrified all the fans following her in her hometown Sunday at the JTBC Founders Cup.
Woods made an eagle at the 15th hole at Wildfire Golf Club, propelling her to a tie for 24th, her best finish so far in her rookie season as an LPGA member.
“It's great to play well this week, especially with this being a home tournament for me,” Woods said. “Being born and raised here, I have a lot of friends and family watching. It's been a fun week, and I'm happy with how I've played.”
Woods closed with a 2-under-par 70, leaving her at 11 under overall. She made eagle after hitting a 3-wood to 20 feet.
Woods said the finish will help her as she seeks to continue to improve.
“Kind of helps build that confidence,” she said.
