AUGUSTA, Ga. – According to Dustin Johnson’s manager, the world No. 1 is at home in south Florida and recovering from the back injury that forced him to withdraw from this week’s Masters.
David Winkle with Hambric Sports told Golf Channel that Johnson is doing light exercises and targeting the Wells Fargo Championship in three weeks for his return to the PGA Tour.
Johnson “seriously injured” his back when he slipped walking down a flight of stairs at the house he was staying in late Wednesday. He warmed up for his first round and even made it to the first tee before he withdrew.
Winkle also said that Johnson might have been able to play if the conditions would have been warmer.
