The PGA Tour announced that the Hyundai Tournament of Champions will return to a Sunday finish in 2016 after four straight years as a Friday-Monday tournament.
The winners-only event has been played at the Plantation Course at Kapalua since 1999, and since 2012 the tournament has utilized a Monday finish. Next year's event will be held Jan. 7-10, marking its return to a more traditional format. Patrick Reed will return to defend his title, having defeated Jimmy Walker in a playoff earlier this year.
The decision leaves only one PGA Tour event with a (scheduled) Monday finish: the Deutsche Bank Championship, which is annually played over Labor Day weekend in early September.
