SPRINGFIELD, N.J. – More than an inch of rain overnight forced the PGA of America setup crew to move three hole locations (Nos. 8, 10 and 16) before the second round of the PGA Championship.
According to Kerry Haigh, the PGA’s chief championships officer, the move was made before anyone had played the holes in the second round.
• The hole on the par-4 eighth hole was originally cut five paces from the right and 16 deep. Now, it is three paces from the left and 20 deep.
• The hole on the par-4 10th was originally cut four paces from the left and 21 deep. Now, it is five paces from the right and 19 deep.
• And the hole on the par-3 16th was originally cut seven from the left and 27 deep. Now, it is five from the right and 21 deep.
The pre-round changes have led to some confusion for players and caddies, with three revised pin sheets.
