Phil Mickelson missed the cut for only the third time in his Masters career this past weekend, yet his record at Augusta National Golf Club is quite remarkable – three victories, 15 top-10 finishes (including a T-2 in 2015), and an amazing 11 top-5 finishes.

You can check out Lefty’s swing in the April issue of Golf Channel Academy Magazine, downloadable for FREE on the App Store or Google Play Store, or by visiting The monthly all-instruction digital publication also includes a bonus video from Golf Channel Academy lead coach Scott Wickham on Phil’s strong takeaway, as well as video tips from GCA’s Martin Hall (on how to aim properly) and Justin Bruton (on how to stick your pitch shots close using Jordan Spieth’s chicken wing method).

The April cover story dives further into Golf Channel’s monthly instructional theme of Drive, Chip and Putt and features tips from Golf Channel Academy lead coach Chris O’Connell on all three facets of the game to help lower your scores. In addition to the drive, chip and putt tips, there’s a feature instruction article on five juniors who reached the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals in Augusta earlier this month, along with some games and drills you can do at home from the coaches who helped get them to the finals. There’s also some smart snacking advice on what to eat on the course to help power you through your round.
