Paul Dunne has accepted a special exemption into the Aug. 17-23 U.S. Amateur.

Last month at St. Andrews, Dunne became the first amateur since Bobby Jones in 1927 to share the 54-hole lead at an Open. He shot 78 in the final round and tied for 30th.

The Irishman is No. 38 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He will be one of 312 players who comprise the U.S. Amateur at Olympia Fields.
