PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Michael Hartford, who caddies for Pat Perez, won Wednesday’s caddie competition at the par-3 17th hole, hitting his tee shot to 3 feet, 7 inches.

Proceeds from the event are generated by player contributions and matched by the PGA Tour and go to the Bruce Edward Foundation.

Edwards, who was Tom Watson’s longtime caddie, died of Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS) in 2004.

Ernie Rose, who caddies for George McNeill, came in second with a tee shot 5 feet, 1 inch from the hole. Of the 92 attempts on Wednesday at the 17th hole, 50 found the water.
