Suzann Pettersen took charge of the Ladies Scottish Open Saturday at Dundonald Links in North Ayrshire.

With a 2-under-par 70, Pettersen moved atop the leaderboard at 6 under overall in the Ladies European Tour event. She’s two shots ahead of England’s Holly Clyburn (67) and three ahead of Lydia Ko (73) with Laura Davies (71) and Celine Herbin (73) each four behind. England’s Charley Hull (68) and Melissa Reid (72) are six back.

Pettersen, a 15-time LPGA winner who is No. 7 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings, is seeking her eighth LET title.

“A good course with a lot of challenges,” Pettersen said. “You’ve got to be on top of your game.”

Ko, No. 2 in the world, was the co-leader with Pettersen after the first round but dropped behind over the back nine Saturday, making four bogeys and a birdie over the final seven holes.

“I just made a few silly mistakes,” Ko said. “A couple of bad club selections, and I had a lot of putts which were very close but not in.

“I know my game is good enough. I just have to trust it. It's not easy out there, and Suzanne is playing well and so are the other girls. I just have to concentrate on my game.”
