The Masters Tournament, USGA and PGA of America announced Monday the qualifying schedule for the 2016 Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at Augusta National.
Registration for the 2016 event begins on Jan. 22 at www.DriveChipandPutt.com.
The event will once again feature boys and girls ages 7-15 competing in four age categories. All 50 states will host qualifiers during the summer, with the top performers at the local level advancing to the sub-regional and regional qualifiers.
Venues that will host the 10 regional qualifiers include Chambers Bay (site of the 2015 U.S. Open), Congressional Country Club, Golf Club of Houston, Hazeltine Golf Club (site of the 2016 Ryder Cup), Medinah Country Club, Oakmont Country Club (site of the 2016 U.S. Open), The Country Club, Torrey Pines Golf Course, TPC Sawgrass and Valhalla Club (site of the 2014 PGA).
Overall, the top 80 finalists (40 boys, 40 girls) will earn an invitation to the national finals, to be held on April 3, 2016, at Augusta National.
The schedule is as follows:
Local: 255 host sites in all 50 states (May, June, July, August 2015)
Sub-Regional: 50 host sites in 45 states (July, August)
Regional: 10 host sites in 10 regions (September)
National finals: 80 participants at Augusta National (April 3, 2016)
