Tiger Woods won't be playing in the Masters, but his agent said on Sunday he expects the 14-time major champion to play this year.
"I do expect him back on the golf course this year. Absolutely. But there's no timetable," Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, told ESPN.com.
Woods issued a statement on his website Friday night saying he was "not physically ready" to return at Augusta National.
''I've been hitting balls and training daily, but I'm not physically ready," Woods said in his statement. "I've said all along that this time I need to be cautious and do what's best for my long-term health and career.
''Unfortunately, playing Augusta next week wouldn't be the right decision.''
Steinberg told ESPN that Woods wants to take his time and make sure he is fully healthy before returning.
"He doesn't want to hit the start-stop button,'' Steinberg said.
Woods hasn't played since last August at the Wyndham Championship.
