The USGA announced Tuesday the eight members of the American squad for this year's Curtis Cup, a list that was headlined by reigning U.S. Women's Amateur champ Hannah O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan, who is ranked No. 2 in the Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking, will be joined by three other players inside the current top 10: Sierra Brooks (No. 4), Mariel Galdiano (No. 6) and Bailey Tardy (No. 7). Other U.S. representatives at the international competition are Andrea Lee, Mika Liu, Monica Vaughn and Bethany Wu.

Five of the team members are 17, Tardy and Wu are 19 and Vaughn is 21.

"It's exciting to have the team announced," said Robin Burke, a member of the 1998 Curtis Cup team who will serve this year as captain. "This is a remarkable group of players - all very talented, all proud to represent the United States."

The Curtis Cup is a biennial contest between amateur women golfers from the U.S. and Great Britain & Ireland. The Americans won two years ago at St. Louis (Mo.) Country Club to extend their overall lead in the competition to 28-7-3.

This year's matches will be held June 10-12 at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club in Enniskerry, Ireland.
