Marc Warren saved some dramatics for the close of his quarterfinal match at the European Tour's Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play.

After playing Tyrell Hatton to a draw over 18 holes, Warren had 59 yards left for his approach to the first extra hole. Warren then watched as his shot landed just in front of the hole, took one hop and went in for a walk-off eagle that ended the match:

"It was a good tee shot and I holed it from 59 yards. Yeah, I do not really know what to say," said Warren, who was 3-down after just five holes. "It was just really bizarre from start to finish."

The Scot advanced to Sunday's semifinals, where he will meet Kiradech Aphibarnrat. The other semifinal match at Murcar Links Golf Club will pit England's David Howell against Sweden's Robert Karlsson.

The overtime victory also came with an extra benefit for Warren, who entered the week at No. 58 in the world ranking. By reaching the semifinals, he is virtually assured of cracking the OWGR top 50 and earning a last-minute invite to next week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
