AUGUSTA, Ga. – Tiger Woods hurt his right wrist while hitting his second shot at the par-4 ninth hole.

Woods’ drive at the ninth came to rest in pine straw right of the fairway and he recoiled after hitting his approach shot, making contact with what appeared to be a root.

Woods scrambled for par at the ninth, turning in 1-over 37, but grimaced after hitting his drive at the 10th hole, which sailed into the woods right of the fairway.

Woods failed to hit a fairway on his opening nine holes. He finished with a 1-over 73 and in a tie for 17th at 5 under. Following his round he said regarding the incident at No. 9, "A bone kind of popped out and the joint kind of went out of place. But I put it back in.”
