Alcott Getting Into Design Business

LPGA Tour and World Golf Hall of Fame member Amy Alcott is part of the design team for the new Indian Canyons Golf Resort in Palm Springs, Calif.
Alcott, a three-time winner of the Kraft Nabisco Championship, is consulting with Casey OCallaghan in the design of the golf course, her first of such projects.
The course is anticipated to open in the fall of 2004, and Alcott will continue as the professional player consultant at the Resort after it opens. The par-71 championship golf course will play at approximately 6,600 yards and will include four large lakes that come into play on six of the holes.
More than 600 trees, mostly indigenous palm trees, are interspersed throughout the course that lies at the entrance to the ancient Indian Canyons.
The course is also surrounded on three sides by mountain vistas, sheltering it from the desert wind. The Indian Canyons Golf Resort will be open for public play.
