This is going to be an amazing experience, said Peters. First-off, I get to play on television. Simply speaking, I see this opportunity as a stepping stone to reaching my ultimate goal which is playing continuously on the PGA Tour.
The telecast will take viewers inside the ropes, as Peters will be micd during play and will wear a heart-rate monitor. A daily account of his performance will appear on the TheGolfChannel.com.
Randy Block, another participant on The Big Break who hails from San Antonio, was chosen by his peers for an exemption to play and also will be taking part in the season-opening event.
The other scheduled televised events for the year are The Barton Creek Challenge, TBA; Greater Sacramento Open, TBA; Central Valley Classic (Stockton, Calif.), April 22-25; and Bay Mills Open from Brimley, Mich., Aug. 26-29.
Last years Barton Creek Classic played host to an exciting finish. Swedens Anders Hultman went on a birdie-eagle-hole-in-one run to erase a three-shot deficit and win his first professional crown.
