Big Break Winner to Debut at Barton Creek

Canadian Tour-LargeORLANDO, Fla. -- Justin Peters believes the opportunity to play big time professional golf is indeed an opportunity of a lifetime. In only one week Peters, winner of four Canadian Tour exemptions with his first place finish on The Golf Channels breakout hit The Big Break, will show viewers if he can during The Barton Creek Classic in Austin, Texas. The Feb. 26 ' 29 event will be the first of five 2004 Canadian Tour events broadcast by The Golf Channel. Live coverage will air Thursday-Sunday from 4-6 p.m. ET.
Justin and AnthonyPeters, a Boston native who currently lives in South Florida, realizes that hell be challenged both mentally and physically trying to live-up to viewer expectations and live out his life long dream of playing on a professional tour.
This is going to be an amazing experience, said Peters. First-off, I get to play on television. Simply speaking, I see this opportunity as a stepping stone to reaching my ultimate goal which is playing continuously on the PGA Tour.
The telecast will take viewers inside the ropes, as Peters will be micd during play and will wear a heart-rate monitor. A daily account of his performance will appear on the
Randy Block, another participant on The Big Break who hails from San Antonio, was chosen by his peers for an exemption to play and also will be taking part in the season-opening event.
The other scheduled televised events for the year are The Barton Creek Challenge, TBA; Greater Sacramento Open, TBA; Central Valley Classic (Stockton, Calif.), April 22-25; and Bay Mills Open from Brimley, Mich., Aug. 26-29.
Last years Barton Creek Classic played host to an exciting finish. Swedens Anders Hultman went on a birdie-eagle-hole-in-one run to erase a three-shot deficit and win his first professional crown.
