Botes is the Best at European Q-School Finals

Desvonde Botes of South Africa is the 2000 European qualifying school medallist with a six-round total of 15-under-par 4l7. Second is Graham Rankin of Scotland, who shot 11-under 421.
 
Thirty-five golfers survived the cut at the tournament in Spain. Included among that number were 18-year-old Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts, Tjaart Van Der Walt of South Africa and the Buy.Com Tour, 1998 British Open hero Justin Rose, and European Tour veterans Mark Mouland, Olle Karlsson and Steven Richardson.
 
Former Ryder Cup player Phillip Walton failed to earn full status on the 2001 European Tour. The Englishman tied for 65th after shooting a final-round 5-over-par 77.
