Clarke Anxious for 2001 Ryder Cup

Darren Clarke finally spoke out on Wednesday of the situation at the 1999 edition of the Ryder Cup, whereby he, along with teammate Lee Westwood, was accused of intentionally playing slow.
Clarke told The Scottish Daily Record that he was disappointed with the situation, and especially with Phil Mickelson's accusations of the incidents.
'We haven't met since but, let's say, I will be talking to him,' Clarke told the Daily Record. 'I can't tell a family newspaper what I thought at the time.'
Clarke will be seeing plenty of Mickelson and the rest of the 2001 American squad this September, when The Ryder Cup returns to The Belfry in England.
