Davies to Commentate at Open Ryder Cup

Laura Davies will be on the other side of the camera during this year's British Open and the Ryder Cup. Davies will serve as a commentator for both the BBC and Sky Sports.
'I'm flattered to have been asked,' said Davies. 'You don't get too many chances to do something like this.'
The 18-time LPGA Tour winner has only one prior experience working as an announcer. After playing a morning round at the 2000 Welch's / Circle K Championship Davies worked for the Golf Channel during the afternoon.
'I found it harder than I thought, what with the producer barking instructions in my ear while I was trying to talk,' Davies said.
The 37 year-old is not planning on switching careers just yet. 'The commentating may or may not lead anywhere,' she said. 'All I know is that it is going to be fun being involved in two such mega occasions.'
