Driscoll Ties Richmond Record

James Driscoll shot 6-under 66 Friday to move to 15-under-par 129, tying a 36-hole tournament record in the Buy.Com Tour's Richmond Open.
Driscoll, in the tournament on a sponsor's exemption, rolled in a 12-foot eagle putt on the final hole to surpass overnight leader Tom Carter and into sole possession of the lead. His 36-hole score tied the tournament record set by Notah Begay III in 1998.
Carter and Patrick Moore are one stroke back. Carter bogeyed two of his final five holes for a 67 and a 130 total. Moore had a 64 Friday to go with his 66 Thursday.
Seventy-six players in the field of 156 made the cut, which came at a tournament-record 5-under 139.
