Emirates Golf Club to Test Field in Dubai

In anticipation of World No. 1 Tiger Woods, the Emirates Golf Club has been toughened up for this season's edition of the Dubai Desert Classic from Mar. 1-4.
The course has essentially been tightened, with some additional areas of rough and tree stands now in existence.
It took the tournament two full years of negotiations and contracts to bring the young American star to its field, but he will now be joining Lee Westwood, Mark O'Meara and defending champion Jose Coceres in search for the title.
The tournament's purse has been increased to $1.5 million from $1.3 million last year.
