Endorsement Dollars Reaching All-Time Highs

According to a survey taken by Golf World Magazine, endorsement spending for golf has reached the figure of $400 million worldwide.
Spurred by World No. 1 Tiger Woods, who will earn $56.4 million this year alone in endorsements, sponsorship income will see the top 75 players in the world earn more than $1 million, although just 45 of them earned more than that on the golf course alone.
It is apparently the companies outside of the game that are responsible for the huge rise in player dollars. While endorsement spending from equipment companies has remained relatively unchanged from 1996, there has been a 200 percent increase in endorsement spending from companies outside golf.
