Fours Are Wild in New Mexico

Of the quintet at the top, Peterson is the most unlikely. Peterson has made 12 starts this season, missing the cut in 11 of them. In his one weekend appearance, Peterson finished tied for 62nd at the Greensboro Open.

Peterson has earned a paltry $1,140 this year; and stands in 289th position on the money list. In fact, none of the leading four currently reside in the top 15. Grob is in 77th position. Van Pelt is 68th. Couch is 63rd.

Thirteen players are tied for 5th, just one shot off the lead. Among them is Iain Steel. Steel held the outright lead at 5-under-par, but bogeyed the 16th and 17th holes to finish the day at 3-under.
