Thats when televisions No. 1 source for the most up-to-date news and information about the world of golf - Golf Central - will move to its new time ' 7 p.m. ET. The move will make room for a more robust, prime-time lineup.
Giving viewers more of their favorite programs was the key motivation for the change. Golf Central will kick off prime time each night at 7 p.m. ET, with an 11:30 p.m. ET replay. Wrapping each night with Golf Central will be great for viewers in all time zones, plus we will have the ability to showcase even more tournament golf and specials in between, said Peter Gordon, managing director of programming for The Golf Channel.
Golf Talk, long a Monday night staple, will be moving to Tuesdays and Leaderboard Report, a favorite of highlight and statistic lovers, will return on Tuesdays with a new sponsor ' Bank of America.
Mondays Become Your Game Night
Also beginning Feb. 9, Monday nights on The Golf Channel will become known as Your Game Night, giving weekend warriors a night full of instruction to help remedy mistakes fresh in their minds from Saturday and Sunday.
The networks top instructional show, Academy Live, will anchor Mondays and will debut a new set. Other shows in the lineup will include favorites like The Golf Channel Academy, Champions Tour Learning Center, Playing Lessons From the Pros and Whats In the Bag?
Your Game Night also will feature live studio segments hosted by Kelly Tilghman that will lead into and out of programs. With a top instructor as her sidekick for the evening, the segments will demonstrate tips and offer timely advice on how to improve your game. Viewers will even have the chance to call in for help throughout the night.
