Monty Headlines Field in Italy

Colin Montgomerie makes his European Tour debut at this week's 60th Italian Open Telecom Italia, as the event returns to Gardagolf, Brescia for the first time since 1997.
Defending champion Ian Poulter will return as the defending champion in hopes to extend his impressive run at this event. Two of the last three years he has hoisted the winner's trophy.
Played in the shadow of the Alps and clinging to the beautiful Lake Garda , Gardagolf will also be welcoming former champion and Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrence as well as Italians Emanuele Canonica and Costantino Rocca.
The pair will be trying to become the first Italian to win the host country's event since Massimo Mannelli 23 years ago.
Canonica finished third in 2002 behind Poulter and Paul Lawrie
Other top European players teeing it up in Italy are Phillip Price and Pierre Fulke, part of last year's winning Ryder Cup team, along with Bradley Dredge, Darren Fichardt, Mark Foster and Fredrik Jacobson, all winners on The 2003 European Tour International Schedule.
Bernhard Langer won the title the last time the event was played at Gardagolf, shooting a course record 8-under-par 64 in Sunday's final round to pass Jos Maria Olazbal to take the title by a stroke.
