Morgan Crowned Comfort Champion

Gil Morgan didn't have to work very hard for his third 2000 Senior Tour victory on Sunday. Morgan entered the final round of the Comfort Classic in the lead - and without hitting a shot, he remained that way.
The final round of the Comfort Classic was cancelled due to inclement weather. Officials at the Indianapolis event reduced the tournament to 36-holes, thus giving the trophy to 2nd-round leader Morgan.
Morgan collected $187,500 for his successful title defense. Jim Ahern was awarded second place, and a check of $110,000. Bruce Fleisher and Tom Wargo tied for third. They each received $82,500.
With his third-place finish, Fleisher increases his lead over Larry Nelson on the 2000 money list. With a total of $2,085, 406 for the season, Fleisher now leads Nelson by over $147 K.
This is the fifth time in its 13-year history the event has been reduced due to weather.
