NBA Player Benched for Playing Golf

Golden State Warriors guard Mookie Blaylock was stripped of his team captain status and pulled from the starting lineup for playing golf during a team practice on Sunday. Warriors coach Dave Cowens said Blaylock 'showed no regard for the team concept' when he skipped practice for the links.
Blaylock said he made arrangements to play golf assuming the team would practice before 11 a.m. as they normally do. When coach Cowens instead scheduled the practice for 1 p.m. Blaylock decided to play anyway.
The 12th-year point was forced to come off the bench during Monday night's 109-85 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Blaylock scored seven points.
