Scott withdraws from South African Open

20-year-old Australian Adam Scott will not be able to ride the momentum of his first win into this week's South African Open. A nagging knee injury will keep him out of the event, co-sanction by the European Tour.
Sunshine Tour executive Louis Martin confirmed the injury related withdrawal Tuesday night. 'He has worn a knee brace in the past, and he felt a measure of discomfort at Houghton last week. It got progressively worse, and his decision was to fly back to Australia to receive treatment,' Martin said.
Scott got his first professional victory with a final hole birdie to defeat England's Justin Rose at last week's Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.
