Senior Season Slowing Down at Turtle Bay

The Senior PGA Tour returns to the island of Oahu for the first time since 1992 for the debut of the Turtle Bay Championship.
The event will be played on par-72 The Links, an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course at the Turtle Bay Resort, located on the North Shore of Oahu.
Even though this is a new venue for the Seniors, Hale Irwin is technically the defending champion, as he won the 2000 EMC Kaanapali Classic ' the tournament that the Turtle Bay Championship replaced on the schedule.
The last time a full-field event was held on Oahu was the 1992 Ko Olina Senior Classic, won by Chi Chi Rodriguez.
This weeks purse is $1.5 million, with $225,000 going to the winner.
The field includes Irwin, Allen Doyle, Bruce Fleisher, Gary Player, Jim Thorpe and Bobby Wadkins.
