Seniors Head to the Farm

Fresh off its most entertaining event of the season, the Senior PGA Tour heads to Ada, Mich., for the Farmers Charity Classic.
Larry Nelson will defend his title at the Egypt Valley Country Club. Nelson fired a course-record 9-under-par 63 a year ago Sunday to win his second event in as many starts on the 50-and-over circuit.
Nelson will headline a field that includes Isao Aoki, Jim Colbert, Gary Player, Jim Thorpe and Lee Trevino.
Nelson, Aoki and Colbert all had chances to win last weeks U.S. Senior Open. Nelson was only one off the lead as the final round began, but recorded five bogeys to no birdies and tied for 7th.
Aoki tied Gil Morgan for second place. Colbert led by one through 15 holes, but bogeyed the 15th and then doubled the 18th to give the title to Bruce Fleisher.
This weeks event, formerly known as the Foremost Insurance Championship, offers a $1.4 million with a $210,000 first-place prize.
