Sorenstam Opens First Golf Course

SHENZHEN, China -- Annika Sorenstam pulled off another first, for herself anyway, by the opening of her first golf course design project.
Annika SorenstamThe Swedish superstar unveiled what she called a 'shot-maker's course,' at the Mission Hills golf resort in southern China. She joins Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Japanese star Jumbo Ozaki, Vijay Singh and Ernie Els who have already designed courses at Mission Hills.
Sorenstam, 33, who was recently inducted into golf's Hall of Fame, says she hopes to be involved with more design work into the future.
With the opening of Sorenstam's course Mission Hills is well on it's way to becoming the largest golf facility in the world. With six courses already in play and four more scheduled to open in the near future, it will surpass North Carolina's Pinehurst resort, which has eight courses.
