Absent from the tour's schedule since 1999, when it was played at the Houghton Golf Club and won by Ernie Els, the PGA dates back to 1923, and contains a long list of the areas finest players in its record books, such as Gary Player, Bobby Locke and Nick Price.
The event will be hosted by the Woodhill Country Club, and offers R1 million in prize money, equivalent to $257,331.
The announcement of its return, which came in late January, completed the schedule of the 2000/2001 Sunshine Tour. For the season, the tour has added three new tournaments from last year, as well as R4 million in total prize money.
