Upper Deck Releases LPGA Cards

The First Ladies subset to the 2003 Upper Deck Golf trading card set has been eleased, marking the first time a woman golfer has ever appeared in a licensed, mainstream golf card set. The offering is a part of Upper Decks 102-card set featuring both PGA and LPGA Tour stars.
The First Ladies set includes Annika Sorenstam, Laura Diaz, Se Ri Pak, Lorena Ochoa, Juli Inkster, Nancy Lopez, Laura Davies, Karrie Webb, Carin Koch, Natalie Gulbis, Cristie Kerr, Judy Rankin and Beth Bauer.
Upper Deck is always looking for new and innovative ways to bring the worlds greatest athletes to the sports memorabilia collectors, said Tim Muret, senior director of product development. As Annika breaks barriers on the golf course, we hope to continue doing the same in our industry, giving these golfers and their fans an opportunity to connect in a way they never have before.
Upper Decks dedication to womens golf will continue throughout 2003, according to Muret, with three premium product additions: SP Authentic (June), Renditions (August) and SP Game Used (October). Those sets will also highlight PGA Tour players, including Tiger Woods and 2003 Masters champion Mike Weir.
