USA Leads GBI In Palmer Cup

The United States leads Great Britain & Ireland 6.5 to 1.5 after Day One of the 5th annual Palmer Cup at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.
The U.S. is trying to avenge a 12.5 to 11.5 defeat to GB&I a year ago at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England.
Wednesday, the U.S. got off to a good start, winning the morning four-ball matches 3 to . GB&I didnt fare any better in the afternoon foursome matches, falling to the Americans 3 to 1.
Thursday is the final day of competition. There will be eight singles matches in both the morning and afternoon.
