Whaley to Play Big Apple Classic

Suzy Whaley has accepted a sponsors exemption to compete in the LPGAs Sybase Big Apple Classic presented by Lincoln Mercury. The event will take place at Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, N.Y., July 17-20.
 
Whaley, who is the head pro at Blue Fox Run Golf Course in Avon, Conn., will then play in the following weeks Greater Hartford Open on the PGA Tour. She became the first female to earn a spot in an official PGA Tour event by winning the Connecticut section PGA Championship last summer.
 
Whaley is playing in this weeks Michelob Light Open at Kingsmill. She has also accepted an invitation to the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic, June 13-15.
