Woods Commits to Buick Open

GRAND BLANC, Mich. (AP) -- Tiger Woods will defend his title at the Buick Open, two weeks after competing in the British Open.

The Buick endorser will attempt to become the first player to win the tournament in consecutive years since Tony Lema in 1965. The event will be played July 31-Aug. 3 at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club, about 60 miles northwest of Detroit.
'I have really enjoyed playing in Grand Blanc over the years, and I look forward to defending my Buick Open title,' Woods said in a statement.

Last year, Woods closed with a 2-under 70 to win by four shots at 17-under for his 33rd PGA Tour victory.
Woods, a three-time winner this year, played in the Buick Classic last week in Harrison, N.Y. He also holds the title in Buick's other PGA Tour event, winning the Buick Invitational in February in San Diego.
