This week’s Northern Trust Open is being played in Los Angeles, and when you think of Los Angeles, you think dramatic and exciting.  Well that is exactly what is happening, the Northern Trust Open is playing out just like a Hollywood movie.  Get your popcorn ready for Round 2 of today’s Northern Trust Open where Phil Mickelson tries to keep his lead, just less than one week from winning the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am.  Can Mickelson keep the lead and the momentum?  “To carry the momentum over from Sunday felt really good,” Mickelson said. “Now we have a lot of golf to play on a really challenging golf course, and I’m going to have to stay really focused, but I feel like I’m playing well.”

Plus, here is another made for TV movie moment, J.B. Holmes is tied for second after having brain surgery five short months ago.  If his fans were wondering if the surgery would hurt his game, Holmes had a nice answer Thursday in the first round of the Northern Trust Open at Riviera. “It’s nice to get back out here and start hitting some shots like I used to hit them,” said Holmes. “It’s nice to put in a good competitive round in tough conditions. It’s just nice to be back out here.”
