Bubbas range of emotions

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Bubba Watson’s session with the media Thursday was typical Bubba, laughing one second, crying the next. The long-bomber shot an opening-round 68 and is tied for the lead midway through the first round of the PGA Championship.

Watson was laughing when talking about his affinity for playing games on his iPhone and how he tortured a sleeping Rickie Fowler during Thursday’s 3-hour fog delay. The next moment he was extremely weepy when talking about his victory at the Travelers Championship this year and how he’s struggled to handle the reality of his father’s cancer diagnosis and another cancer scare with his wife Angie, who has since found out she does not have the disease.

“Hopefully y’all don’t think I’m a sissy,” Watson said, wiping away tears. “I do hit the ball a long way.”
