World No. 1 Luke Donald believes No. 2 Rory McIlroy has more pure golfing ability than Tiger Woods.

'I know Tiger is very, very close and obviously I think Tiger's work ethic has always been tremendous, and his mindset, as well. I think his mindset is what has separated himself from the field when he was really at the top of the game. But in terms of talent, I think Rory has more talent,' Donald said Wednesday at the Dubai World Challenge.

The Englishman believes Rory is a natural.

'I've always said, 'I think of the guys I've played out here on tour, Rory has the most talent that I've ever played with.' He's young and he's got a great future ahead of him and I see him winning lots of tournaments and lots of majors,' he said.

Donald believes McIlroy's performance at Congressional in June was a shining example of what's to come.

'He showed the world how great he can be and will be going forward at the U.S. Open. That was an unbelievable way to play in that event and finish it off like he did,' he said.

After the year's second major, Donald believed McIlroy would be tougher to beat.

'He's not quite dominating the game yet but a win like this will do wonders for his self-esteem,' he said, according to the U.K.-based Guardian. 'He'll be a tough force to reckon with from now on. He's going to be high on confidence and he's already got the game to beat anyone.'

That dominance may now be taking shape. Since the wrist injury at the PGA Championship, McIlroy has not finished worse than fourth in six appearances.
