Farmers Insurance has signed a five-year extension to remain the title sponsor of the PGA Tour's annual stop in San Diego through 2019, the Tour announced Tuesday.

The new agreement will take effect following the 2014 Farmers Insurance Open, which will be played Jan. 23-26 at Torrey Pines Golf Course and will mark the insurance group's fifth year serving as title sponsor of the event.

'Farmers Insurance has been a wonderful partner of the PGA Tour and Century Club since becoming title sponsor in 2010,' said PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem as part of the announcement. 'We are extremely pleased to announce this five-year extension, which guarantees the continuation of the positive impact the Farmers Insurance Open has had throughout the San Diego area.'

The 2013 installment of the event saw current world No. 1 Tiger Woods notch the first of his five PGA Tour wins last season en route to Player of the Year honors. As part of the release, Woods indicated that he looks forward to defending his title in January.

'Torrey Pines is part of some great memories for me,' said Woods, who has won eight times at Torrey Pines, including the 2008 U.S. Open. 'I appreciate all the support from the fans in San Diego. They've always been great to me.'
