Martin Kaymer captured the Wanamaker Trophy last month for his first major title, his second win of the season, and now has a chance on Sunday to join Miguel Angel Jimenez as the only players to win in three times on either the European or PGA tours this year.

He has a nice trend working to his advantage – the last four winners on the European Tour (a run that began with his win at Whistling Straits) are all on Colin Montgomerie's team set to take on the USA in three weeks' time in Wales.

The 25-year-old achieved his goal of debuting in the Ryder Cup with the PGA Championship victory and is back in action for the first time since with his attention refocused to win the Race to Dubai. He is not far off from checking it off the list as well. Kaymer currently leads the Race to Dubai and would separate himself from Graeme McDowell, who is in second in the rankings, by almost €500,000 with a victory Sunday in The Netherlands. The young German enters the final round of the KLM Open with a one-shot lead after a round of 66 Saturday.
