SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Talk about picking up where you left off. Jason Kokrak eagled the par-4 first hole Friday to move to 12 under par in Round 3 of the Open.

Kokrak eagled the par-5 ninth, his 18th hole, Friday evening to get within one of Brooks Kopeka’s 36-hole lead. He nearly holed his 214-yard approach for an albatross in Round 2. Saturday, his 130-yard approach shot found the bottom of the cup.

Kokrak, who tied for second last year at CordeValle Golf Club, grabbed a share of the early third-round lead as Kopeka birdied the first. They are playing in a threesome with Robert Garrigus, who also birdied No. 1 to remain two off the pace.
